Description
Allied Waste of Corvallis, OSU Campus Recycling and Linn and Benton Counties sponsor the Master Recycler Class, an eight-week program that covers all aspects of waste reduction. Classes in 2010 will be held 6:15 p.m.-9:00 p.m. on Wednesdays, January 13th through March 3rd, at the Carriage House at the Benton County Fairgrounds. In addition to the eight class sessions, there are two Saturday fieldtrips (8:30 a.m. to between 2:00 and 4:00 p.m., dates TBD).
The classes are offered free to participants who agree to “pay forward” what they have learned with 30 hours of community service. Volunteer opportunities are as varied as staffing a booth at the Linn or Benton County fairs, leading recycling workshops, and volunteering with local reuse agencies. Class space is limited.
