The university acquired a small house adjacent to campus in 2007 and the SSI has restored and converted the house into a sustainability center, similar to the cultural centers that already occupy our campus. Our intent is to make the building as "green" as possible, complete with renewable energy, a composting system and a demonstration organic garden. Inside, the center houses an expanding library of books, brochures, and periodicals covering a wide range of topics.
We envision the center as a place for environmentally conscious individuals and groups to come together to network and exchange ideas. Everyone is welcome to the center for tours, meetings, space reservations, library access, and social activities!
