Waste Watchers is a joint group between Campus Recycling and the Student Sustainability Initiative whose mission is to engage students and the community in waste reduction at OSU by providing educational programming, meaningful opportunities for action, and empowerment of future leaders.

Waste Watchers Weekly Meetings, Spring Term 2014

  • Thursdays 6:30-7:30 pm, except in week 8 (moved to Wednesday, May 21 at 6:30-7:30 pm that week). All spring dates: Apr. 3, 10, 17, 24; May 1, 8, 15, 21, 29; and June 5.
  • Student Sustainability Center, 738 SW 15th St
  • All are welcome to drop by our weekly meetings, at which we work on new ways to encourage people to recycle and reduce waste! This term we are working on Earth Week, spring term Repair Fairs and the Res. Hall Move-Out Donation Drive.

Res. Hall Move-Out Donation Drive

  • Thursday, Friday and Monday, June 12, 13 and 16, for 4 shifts per day (8-10 am, 10 am-12 pm, 1-3 pm, and 3-5 pm).
  • OSU Recycling/Surplus warehouse, 644 SW 13th St, Corvallis.
  • Did you know that last year nearly 26,000 pounds of material was diverted from the landfill and given to non-profits during move-out? Our goal this year is 28,000 pounds and you can help! Assist with the donation drive by sorting donations in the warehouse, recovering materials from in and around hall dumpsters, or joining our crew to go out on collection routes!
